delirium,

Congrats on finishing your first marathon. If you want to frame your medal, race number, etc, I say do it. Don't let anyone tell you it's not worth doing. I keep recent/favorite race numbers and medals on a big cork board in my home office. I have pics of myself finishing, with friends, cards from my hubby, etc. I don't care if anyone thinks this is foolish or vain or what. Looking at BB reminds me that I am a strong woman capable of many things, not just running long distances or respectable (for me) times.

My mom recently dug out my dad's marathon memorabilia and had his stuff matted and framed as a Christmas gift. You should have seen his face when he opened them!

So, get those medals out and display them if you want to. Surround yourself positive vibes. A running buddy told me she takes hers to a lady at the flea market--she's going to Boston this year, and still frames her "important" stuff.

Run Happy!
