My colon and part of my small intestine had to be removed several years ago. I had a procedure that eliminated the need for a colostomy bag, and have been "normal" ever since. I run, but not over 4 or 5 miles. My problem is this - without a colon, dehydration is a huge problem. I'm wondering if any one out there is running long distances who has had the same surgeries as I have. And what they are doing about dehydration and (sorry to have to say) defecation. I don't feel like I can go that far without both being a problem. Thanks for any advice/help you can give.
