Hello, I have been using a Polar heart rate monitor for the past 2 years. As far as I know they are accurate. I have definitely enjoyed mine, I don't run without it. There are different types of polar watches depending on what features you would like to have. Prices start around $60 for a Polar F1. It will display your heart rate, date and time, and the amount of time you exercise. You enter your information such as your age, weight, and desired low and high heart rate range. While you are exercising it will beep if you heart rate goes above or below your desired range. Do you have a heart rate range you like to stay within? If not, I can give you an estimated formula. I hope this helps:)
