Steph, You did a good and very courageous deed here. I applaud you. You put a challenge out there for yourself and then put money on it. As others have said, you do have enough time to train and you can do this. At this point, attitude is important. You've gotten ideas about training programs. You can also try www.halhigdon.com for a selection of free training schedules. If you are in the Detroit area, you should seriously consider signing up for one of Running Fit's "Marathon 101" groups. This will get you training together with other newbies, giving you both encouragement and accountability. I'm sure there are other such programs in Detroit and almost anywhere you'll find another runner. Detroit is a great marathon. I've done it twice (out of 14 so far). The race is well organized and very friendly to the "greenies" or first timers like yourself. I'm in the Detroit area. If I can give you any more help or advice, let me know. Good luck throughout.
