I live in Scarsdale(po) and work in downtown Manhattan in New York. I run once a week in Bob Glover's class and the rest of the week on my own. Barring accident, I will run the New York Marathon. I have been investigating the running clubs listed as links on New York Road Runners web page, and regretably, I don't have a high opinion of any of them. They all seem to be run for the benefit of the smalll clique of runners and don't seem particularly welcomming to new members. That is to say, they do not extend themselves to new members, or offer real encouragement to join up. Admittedly, I already have training and I don't need anybody to act as Bob Greene to my Oprah Winfrey, chirping Jiminy Cricket words of encouragement into my ear. I don't need any hand holding to get me to run!!! What I would like is friends to share my experiences and race with.
So, if anyone would like to recommend their club for me, I'd appreciate it.
