I walk/ran my first 1/2 M in January this year and was soooooo amazed that at the end of 13.1 I felt like I wanted to keep going. I had not run anything since 1984 and that was a 10K.
I had always said I would run a marathon by the time I was 40 and when I didn't do it, I almost scratched it off my "bucketlist".
My goal now is to walk/run/crawl the Jan 09 marathon before my 50th birthday in March of 09. I'm kind of doing it as a gift to myself.
All my training has done for me so far is make me stronger and give me more energy. I am training slow... taking a year to do it from my 1/2
