Hey, Step One. You did training; you did at least one long one. Yes, you slacked off (for good reason, but still . . .). You're most likely in reasonably good physical condition to have come this far.
If you do not run, you have already failed. I don't know about you, but I hate to lose by default.
If you start the marathon and don't finish, what have you lost?
My advice is get out there with the expectation of finishing. Take your time and start at a reasonable pace. Concentrate on finishing this first marathon. There will be others after this when you can improve you time.
Go out, have fun, do something you've never done before and reveal in the feeling!
