I agree with Sunbeam! I have found that eating pasta the night before my long runs makes me more tired and less motivated to get through the run. A well balanced meal is the best way to do it. Last year, before the Twin Cities Marathon I had homemade nachos with tortilla chips, melted cheese, tomato, lettuce and meat. It was the perfect amount of food and didn't leave me too hungry in the morning. This year, I'm planning on eating at Chipotle the night before and having a vegetarian burrito bol. Again, a good combination of several food groups. I've tried it before two of my training long runs and have found it makes me super energized!
Good luck with your marathon and happy running!
