I'm training for Steamtown with 10 weeks to go. I'm logging between 40 to 50 miles/wk, including 1 speed session and 1 downhill mtn run. Problem: Most advice I read states that long runs should only last about two hours. My concern is that I've done two 20-milers and two 18-milers thus far, all of wihch have taken me more than 3.5 hours. Granted, my partner and I keep a 12-minute pace, and we take a few walk breaks. But are we taking too long? Should we cut back our two remaining 20-milers to keep our long runs at a two-hour limit? I can put up with the sore legs, but are we risking injury by investing too much time on our feet? Thanks!
