Your LONG run or maximum training should be about equal to the time which you hope to finish. I hope to finish my marathons in 3:25 therefore I do not stay out there practicing for longer than 3:25. I cover 22 miles in an easy practice run for the time of 3:25. I finish my long runs with 2 miles on the track where I try faster strides. I do 5 long runs of 20 + before the marathons. I often run 12-15 miles of regular running.....HANG TUFF!
