Dear All:
This year I have decided to run the NYC Marathon on November 4. As part of this goal, I have also committed to raise a minimum of $2620 or $100 per mile for Team Continuum, a charity that cares for the immediate needs of Cancer Patients. I chose this cause to run for all the people in my life that have been and are affected by cancer. Team Continuum is a NOT a research based organization. Their focus is about helping people that are living with cancer today. For them, it's about the care and not the cure. Though they fully support research and are grateful for it, they focus on helping today's cancer patients and their families. They do things such as providing gifts to children in cancer hospitals during the holiday season and hiring a nutritionist for a cancer center (Continuum Cancer Center) that did not have enough resources. The organization is about helping people that are living with the disease today, trying to help in the fight for survival and to improve life for cancer patients. To quote a letter from the NYU Cancer Institute (https://www.teamcontinuum.net/nyu_2.asp), "the funds raised through Team Continuum for direct patient care fills in the gap for the small things that make a difference in the cancer therapy experience for patients."
I am asking for your support for an organization that reaches out to aid all cancer patients.
