Yes, you would think that if you ran a 1:30 Half that you would be able to run a 3:15 Full .... just does not always work that way does it? I have decided that it is part being able to take the pain, part very long distance training consistently, and part the make up of your muscle fibers/natural long distance running talent. (For example: I know a kid (24 years old) who decided that he was going to run a 3:00 first marathon .... so, he went out and trained for a few months and then ran a 2:57 at the 2007 San Diego Marathon finishing 107 th out of over 15,000 and 1/3 of the runners ahead of him were professionals.) He just took the pain.
