I followed Hal Higdon's 1/2 marathon training program yet increased the mileage a bit to run 13.1 instead of the 10 he suggests. I am going to start training for my 1st marathon and wanted to use his marathon training schedule yet it goes up to 20 miles is this sufficient or should I run 26? My sister is my training partner and she insists that we should run the appropriate distance before the race.
