26.2 is quite an accomplishment by any means. It should be savored and enjoyed at the race of your choosing. Part of the mystique is completing the distance on marathon day. If you do it before hand, what is there to look forward to? Been there, done it, whats left. I personally have never exceeded 22 miles on a training run. The rest will come if you've done your homework and tapered up before the race. When you run long runs it takes your body time to recover, the longer the run....the longer the recovery. The adrenalin will take you the rest of the way. Do your long runs....your 16's, 18's and your 20-22 but then let your body rest up, recover and get ready for the big day and then when you cross the finish line and get your finisher's medal for your accomplishment you'll be glad you didn't shoot yourself in the foot and take away from your BIG DAY!!!!! Best of luck, both you and your sister
