The day of most North Americans goes this way: a light breakfast, followed by a hasty lunch, and then a heavy dinner. Nutrionists say that we really ought to be more European with our food intake - eat well at the start of the day (breakfast), again at lunch, but go very light at dinner. Although this idea may seem quite alien to our upbringing, the few people I know who do this have achieved measureable improvements in their weight control.
