Sue, When you had your surgery in the past were you given any exercises to do to strenghten your back and abdominals? If so, did you do them? Were you told that you should avoid certain exercises? Are you following any sort of back/abdominal strenthening program currently? How are your hamstrings? My posture is the first thing to go when I get tired at the end of a race which is the beginning of the end for me. Once I start to slouch it's over (something my friends and I refer to as the "grandma shuffle"). However, I have been pretty diligent about following an ab program I got from a Runner's World article a year and a half ago and it's worked wonders for me. Anyway, when I get your responses to the above questions it will help me formulate some sort of adequate response (if any!).
