A 14 year old shouldn't be worrying about weight

While it is great that your daughter is doing well running, at 14 she shouldn't worry about weight issues. If she starts training intensly now, she will burn out before college and later. If she is interested in weight training, I would recommend starting out with 3 sets of 12 reps using a light weight. That will build the endurance needed for cross country. She should work all major muscle groups, both upper and lower body. But right now, the most important thing is that she has fun whil learning about the benefits of running.
