Hi, I ran my first marathon a month ago. I hadn't even approached the full distance in training but was very comfortable with 9 - 10 mile runs. On the day, after this distance I started to blister fairly badly and ended up walking most of the rest of the race. It was mostly along all my toes that was the problem, the bottom of my feet weren't too bad and my heels were fine.
After getting a pair of good trainers and proper socks as well I never had any trouble in training.
I hear vaseline helps reduce friction, anybody have any advice on this? Is there anyway I can toughen up the skin on my feet? I hear soaking in warm salty water helps.
Any advice greatly appreciated, Sean.
