Remember that on downhills it may be easier to run faster, but 26 miles of it can take its toll on the quads. Therefore, I have two suggestions - 1) start out at the same pace that you would for a flat marathon, open it up only after 18 miles, or better yet 2)if you use a heart rate monitor and you know your marathon pace HR - use a couple of beats slower than you would use for a flat marathon.
