Well, considering that I live in the frozen tundra of Northern Michigan (it is actually quite beautiful up here), and that I'm starting to train for a marathon that is on May 25th, it looks as if I'm going to be doing a lot of running outdoors.
We get some pretty harsh winters up here, and I'm not hesitant to go to my gym & jump on the treadmill if the weather is especially atrocious. But I'm just curious, does anyone have experience of how to get through a run when it's snowing, windy, dark, etc? Not only the clothing issue, but how is breathing affected (I have "managed" asthma), when is a good time to stretch in order to make sure I'm warm & won't shock my muscles?
I'm sure I have a ton of other questions that I'm not remembering right now! If anyone has anyone information that would help me out, I would REALLY appreciate it. I know the weather has been nice the past week up here, but I also know that the hard stuff is going to be hitting soon (it's already the middle of November!).
Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide, Colleen
