Hi Colleen! Sorry it took me over a month to respond---I haven't checked this page in a while. I hope the marathon training is going well and you have recovered from your cold!!! I ran my first marathon this year and I loved it! (well- most of it) Don't be nervous-it is so much fun training for it. Although I did lose a little sleep the night before the race.
About the Old Kent(new name this year-Fifth Third River Bank Run)- it is on May 11th which I would think is too close to the marathon. It seems you would need more than 2 weeks to recover from that and be ready for a marathon. Too bad, though, because the Old Kent is a great race! That is my big problem---I want to run a marathon early in the year but I don't want to miss the Old Kent. Also my mom and I are doing the Chicago Avon Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk in June which is the same weeekend as a few other fast marathons. So it may mean a fall marathon for me.
About the Sutton's Bay 10K...you should definitely do it next year---we had a great time. Especially stomping on the grapes at the finish! Plus it is so beautiful there. Lucky you---getting to run there all the time.
You said you just moved to TC---are real estate prices as high as I've heard?
Take care and good luck with your winter training! Also I have a pretty good Old Kent Training Program if you decide to do it. (I could e-mail it to you)
