Yes, Holiday Inn Brookline is located just past the 24 mile mark, while Buckminster is at 25.2. They are both very good choices.
Brookline pros - a bit more quiet neighborhood than Kenmore Square's Buckminster, perhaps slightly nicer rooms and hotel amenities.
Buckminster pros - it's an easy walk down picturesque Commonwealth Avenue to the Marathon Expo (at the Hynes Convention Center) and to the buses bound for Hopkinton on race day. You can also walk back to your room after completing the race for a nice hot shower a cold beer.
