I figured you would look me up- don't worry about it, I'm not trying to hide behind my login name, it's just that runjess was already taken. I'll tell you what, I could have used your company this past weekend. I just felt... off, you know? I could not get into a groove and mentally I wasn't there. Usually I'm super focused and really enjoy the process of clicking off the miles but I was spaced out or something. My legs felt fine the entire way and I sat at 8 minute miles (should have been REALLY conservative for me at this point) for 22 miles or so but then I just ran out of gas. Has that ever happened to you? I'm looking forward to taking some time off of training before I put the hammer down for Boston (are you going?). I think Yasso is nuts, I did his Yasso 800's 4 and 5 weeks out from Milwaukee and easily averaged 3:13. I'm talking 10x800 with a 400 meter jog recovery ranging from 3:10-3:15 (most right on 3:13). Even then I thought no way. Oh well, I'm still glad I went to GR, it was a nice race and my training partner knocked out a 3:44 to qualify so that was really exciting. Too bad I couldn't jet down to Houston to run with you, my sister lives there. You had better run without me anyway... I'm in the habit of petering out at the end and coming up short! ha ha! I'll be excited to see how it goes for you, are you looking to break 3:30 there?
