Thanks for sharing your experience. You can tell from clicking through this BB that the board gets a lot of questions about the benefits of HRMs. Your report will surely become one of the best sources for these posters to learn how a HRM can benefit a runner during a marathon.
You did consume a lot of GU! I think at the MCM01, where food was plentiful, I consumed one glazed Krispy Kreme donut at the midpoint and then perhaps 3 packets of gel during the second half.
