I've started my own version of yasso 800's simply because I hate running 800's. I have a section of road that's an gentle grade and I run repeats on the hill in about 3:20, my goal marathon time. Recovery is jogging down, then start up again. I also like doing tempo runs at about 30 sec per mile pace faster then marathon pace, these range from 7 -9 miles. My last type of workout is distance repeats, like 6 x mile or 4 x two mile. I don't do a many long runs as you do, but I get around three runs of about 20 miles. I also do about 6 runs between 15 and 18 miles at an easy pace.
My last marathon was the Valley of Fire marathon in Overton NV on the 17th. It's one of the hardest courses I've run and pretty. Small field, only about 27 registered in the marathon. Had a good time, even though I've been training for a half marathon - 3:52.
