My intervals (repeats) are always shorter than that. The longest I do are 1000 meters hill repeats. On the track I do 200s, 400, 800s and 1Ks. Or sometimes I will do 2000m 'intervals' at a good 10 k pace (on a 200m track) with accelerations once every 200 m on a straight portion between curves. You do a few of those and you learn a little more about yourself...
