recovery after a long run

Sounds as though you are taking some time to recover after your long run. Two things spring to mind. 1. You may be doing your long runs too fast. A long slow run shouldn't have a great impact on your other week's training unless you are doing them too fast. 2. If this is not the case then you could try doing 75% of your long run really slow and doing the final 25% at or close to marathon pace.
