In 1975, Bill Rodgers broke the existing Boston Marathon course record by stopping 3 different times along the way. His winning time of 2:09:55 included 2 walking stops to drink water and another full stop to re-tie a shoe lace. Since that memorable day, I don't think any runner has ever felt that walking in a marathon is a sign of weakness.
Rock on.
