Running Shoes & the Long Run

If you're like me, by the middle to end of your long run your feet are killing you. If you plan your run so you pass your car or house around mid-way, why not have a 2nd pair of shoes/socks waiting and then take a quick break and change them? I've found this to be VERY refreshing and gives me a little boost when I need it. I also believe it cuts down on injury a bit - my gait and foot strike change a slight bit with the change of shoes which seems to relieve/prevent those repetitive disorders.
