Nothing succeeds like rest. I used to worry about achilles, my right one used to bother me from time to time. I realized that over a period of months, I could train & strengthen my achilles with proper rest. I completed a marathon in January and have since scaled back some, focusing on 5 and 10ks. No more problems, and I enjoy running injury free. I am not the fastest runner, but I have continued to improve gradually over the 9 mths I've been running. At 230 lbs, I recently ran sub 8's for 3 miles on a track. This is the one body part I listen to very closely.I've been running consistently due to staying relatively injury free. Rest is the best medicine, and think long term.
