Drink water, watch the purines, and stay off the foot when it flairs up (as if I had a choice LOL), but otherwise keep on keepin' on?

I know it's hereditary in some cases and, yes, my dad had it, but only once, so I'm getting my hopes up that this is my first and last bout.

Pain-wise, I have two black toenails healing and it's not even close. At its worst my foot swelled to twice its size and the main joint on the big toe was so painful I couldn't even stand the weight of a beedsheet on it.

As for training, I walked 25 miles this week, but my hip and ankle are sore from favoring the foot for so long. The plan is to lace on the Sauconys Monday.

Thanks for the feedback.
