Actually, and somewhat unbelievably, Jack Daniels is the gentleman's name. He's a coach at a Div III state school in New York. His teams have had a lot of success. He's taken a lot of mediocre runners and made them great, plus worked with various elite athletes over the years. His training program involves long runs, intervals (run at roughly 5k pace), repeats (quicker than 5k pace), and tempo runs (at about 10 mile race pace). There's a lot more to it then this though. He's got a book or two out where he explains it all - that's what I was referring to.
