So I was running yesterday and the lateral aspect of my left foot began to hurt again. Previously I had stepped on a rock in the same area back in Mid-Nov and now I feel pain when I run in the same area. After I had injured it the first time I stayed off of it for close to a two months. But recently as I begin to put back on the miles it starts to hurt. So I'm thinking I have a stress fracture in my fifth meta tarsal. My question is this what would you all recommend in this situation in order to treat and during the down time would running on an elliptical be a bad idea? Thanks
