A year ago I planned to run my first marathon. I planned to do no real physical training...only mental. I worked for my father who is a carpenter. Last fall we spent several days painting a house. I dispise painting and the slow drudging pace of painting all day long was a real mental challenge. I used these days of work to build my mental toughness. I believed I could make myself mentally tough and complete the marathon with little or no physical training. I became ill a few weeks prior to the marathon with bronchitis and was unable to participate. There is one month until this marathon will take place in the current year. Once again, I am driven to accomplish this feat with little physical training...only the base of my great mental toughness. I believe I can do it and I will. I look forward to telling you of my trials and triumphs as race day approaches.
