I will have the opportunity to travel (work-related) to New York a couple of times in the next few weeks. At least on one morning I will have some time to myself and of course I'd love to go run in Central Park (it's such a mythical place). I looked at a map and the six mile loop looks interesting. Some people I know think this is not a safe proposal. What's the story? Are there special precautions to be taken, or is this just lore?
Also, there is an indication in the map that says that the NY running club is just by the Park (90th). Does anyone know if there are lockers we can use there? Call me a prude, but I just don't see myself riding the subway during morning rush hour in running gear...
Thanks.
