I believe I may have been the one relating the virtue of overdistance. Again, a 30+ mile training run always got me primed for a great marathon effort.

Having said that, I would also ask you to sharpen up your 10k PB. You stand a much better chance of cracking 3 hours if you can demonstrate your fitness by running a 38:30 10K.
