Pace Calculators

I used the pace calulator to plan my pace for Grandma's Marathon (my first) last year. My best 10K time was 56 minutes and it predicted a 4:19. I trained for and ran a 10 min pace and hit the wall at 19 miles. I finised in over 5. I think that pace was too fast for me.

This year I am training for the Twin Cities. Im doing slower long runs and longer short runs with more rest days. Training is going much better. My 20 mile run was at a 11 minute pace. I just ran a 10K labor day in 54:21. The calculator predicts 4:12. I know from last year this is also too fast, but what should my target be? I want to finish in good form but don't want to find out too late that I ran too slow.

Any advice would be appreciated.
