I almost wonder if there should be marathons ONLY for charity runners...
This cheating issue does go beyone MCM and cutting the course. I did the Nike 26.2 marathon last year - the TNT coaches were EVERYWHERE on the course on bikes weaving in and out of runners even though that was against the rules - also providing roving water and aid stops for individual runners. Seemed to me at the time that this was cheating - as it provided an advantage to these runners that no one else had.
I have told friends to stay away from this race unless you are TNT AND maybe that is a good thing to have races that are focused only on them...
