I'm Puzzled Tom

I'm puzzled Tom. Is there some law that says you can't raise money to fight leukemia unless you run a marathon (or claim to run a marathon) in association with it? Have I been committing a crime all these years by donating money to the leukemia society independently of my marathon running? If the TNT members are really so concerned about fighting this disease, why can't you just raise the money without tying it a marathon? That way you could devote your time and commitment solely to what you deem to be most important-raising money. Of course that would mean if you chose to run a marathon at some other time you would have to get into on your own and pay your own expenses instead of having your donors pay them for you. And I will answer the question you posed to Bambi, no, you won't see me at Boston. Since I won't ask my friends to pay to get me in and can't afford the charity fee on my own, I am not eligible for the exemption from the qualifying times that Boston grants to charity runners.
