I to am a TNT runner. I had never run a marathon at the point in time when I signed onto the TNT program mainly because I felt I would need the training from a coach and the team spirt of the others to complete the a marathon. I was not new to running having run in a number of 5k and 10k races. But the thought of going 26.2 at age 54 was a little overwhelming. I did the training and completed the marathon and have since gone on to complete two other marathons training on my own. My TNT coachs were great and at no time was there a hint of bringing us first timers in other than under our own power. No one could have gotten me into a van or a bus since I was determined to finish all of the 26.2 miles and not be cheated an inch of that distance. I could not have accepted a finishers metal if I had not finished, my own pride would not have allowed it. I am glad I did it and still run with some of the folks I initially trained with. I can only supppose that those that condone cutting the course short will not be in the bussiness of coaching for to long since those that have the desire and want the help to get started will not participate in that organization.
