There are many marathons with generous time limits, charity groups who cannot/will not train their runners to be able to complete a race in a given time should not enter them in that race. In addition to runners who have cut the course, I'd like to see runners who are paced into a crowded finish chute by their coaches disqualified. TNT VA Coach (per T-shirt) cut me off heading into the finish of Marine Corps this year. This is a marathon, not a self-esteem package. On the flip side, I recognize which races are over-filled with charity runners and plan accordingly. And I seek out and support races that don't cater to these groups.
