Ok, here are some running related emotional topics:
1) what makes one a "marathoner"?
2)should the mega-marathons go the way of having very long (say 6 hour) time limits?
3) when is one really running the marathon, and when is one engaging on a long, possibly urban hike?
4) should marathons go the way of some of races like Comrades and give different colored finishers medals for people who run the faster times?
Some of my opinions: "finishing" a marathon does not make one a "marathoner". Example: I've finished 9, but I really don't consider myself to be a marathoner as I seldom really race the whole distance. Instead, I try to hold some sort of a "respectable" pace (semi-brisk jog). To me, a marathoner is someone who actually races a marathon.
I'd like to see the different types of medals; for example it would be cool for the sub 3 folks (that does not include me!) to get some sort of special token.
