the truth about long distance and weight gain

This is how it works for the average marathon/long distance runner. Your body and muscles start to store energy for those long runs...because the body thinks you are going to depleat it and starve it. That is why one gets hungrier. So one has to watch his/her diet or increase cardio with frequent short distances racing (5K & 10K)...that is what elite runners do they actually consume more energy=calories.
