Another male - but one that struggles.
Last September while running 80 miles per week I was able to slug on 15 pounds.
Here is what I have found works for me: I make sure I get at least a minimum amount of calories each day. My target is 3,000-3,500 daily (6'3 and 200#). It seems that if I get only 2,500 for 2 or 3 days, then I binge eat as my body is over depleted.
I am also with G - I surround myself with healthy food. I am also a chocolate eater - I just try to fit it within the minimum / maximum daily calorie intake.
