In May this year I ran my first marathon (the Great Wall Marathon) of which aobut 8 k was hilly and the rest flat. Did it in 6.5 hours. As I am really into it now, I plan my next one 18 August in Helsinki and then 14 October in Beijing again. On 9/10 November I am doing a 100 k charity hike (which I have done twice before) in hilly Hong Kong. My friends say I will kill myself or at least my knees with this schedule and should at least drop the Beijing marathon. They say 2 marathons a year is the maximum. I however really believe I can do it. Any ideas on how much time between events is needed?
