I'm heading a team of eight runners that's planning to do a 160-mile relay race here in North Carolina, at the beginning of September. The relay legs average five miles each, so basically each runner ends up doing four five-mile runs in a roughly 24-hour period. Training is not an issue for me, since I'm gearing up for an Oct. 7 marathon -- I'll just treat the race as a substitute for the 20-miler I would have done that weekend anyway. However, others on the team have been asking advice on how to prepare for an event like this. Any advice out there? Thanks in advance.
