dear don't know where you're living but from the UK and here with us in Belgium (western Europe) we know a carbo load product, called "Carbo Lode" made by Leppin. (think it's English from origin), but for sure something likely must exist everywere. This is a 99.7-100% carbo loader and you take it (about 500-600grams) the last three days before the marathon (the race day not included). Mostly it's tasty from itself or you mixed it with unsweetened fruit juice.
Before loading the carbo's you can try to tapper off, i.e. do not eat (or as less as possible) cabrohydrates, starting the 7th - 6th and 5th day before the race. the third day before the race you eat normal, and then start the loading as discribed above.
Please be informed that your liver, stomach and/or abdomens may protest, even during the race (so have a try-out before, when doing a long distance training for example, or just do the loading part only, is what I do mostly).
Hope you have 'some' information herewith. If not please send me you questions. Ps I'm running my marathons normally between 2:52h and 3:00 hours, and you ? Regards richard e-mail also at richpeeters@belgacom.net as this my 'normal' address. see you
