I am 53 yrs old, 5'10", and weigh 145 lbs. I am training for my 4th marathon and don't feel I have the "eating on the run" thing down. Today's run was an 18 miler... 75 degrees and very humid. I consumed 560 calories during my 2 hr. 45 minute run (combination of gatorade, gummy bears, Accel Gel, and part of a Cliff Bar. I didn't finish strong. So, what is the right amount of calories I should be consuming during a sub-4 hr marathon?
