My longest run ever was 15 k Stockadeathon in Schenectady. However we have a beatiful venue here in the N Y capital district for a walking marathon. I would like to organize and do a marathon walk along the Mohawk Towpath Byway next spring (2006), if there is enough interest. Start would be in Schenectady and follow the historic Erie Canal route through Niskayuna, Clifton Park, Halfmoon, Colonie, Cohoes, and finish in Waterford. Elevation drop is about 200 feet. Purpose: to raise awareness of the Mohawk Towpath Byway and maybe raise some money to fund projects to improve the Byway visitor experience. Is there any interest?
