Tampa will be my first marathon also. I am training to run the race in the sub 4:00hr catagory. (Thats what I am shooting for, just finishing will be acceptable.)
I am following a training schedule that I found for last years Chicago marathon. I have modified it by changing the hill training to heat training. ie. running my short runs in the heat. I find keeping my self well hydrated really helps me near the end of the longer runs.
I live in S. Fla so I am training for a long hot run. (It will probably snow, just my luck.) The race starts at 6:15 in the morning, so I'm hoping it won't be too hot.
Some of my co-workers are planning to run the marathon also, in the 11-12min mile range, so I know that you will have a least 2 people that I know of in your speed catagory.
Good luck, and see you in Tampa.
Sheldon
